This is episode 40 of the EDGA Golfers first podcast. This week, it is a little different. It responds to several requests about the golf course on which the upcoming EGA European Championship for golfers with a disability is being played.
The O'Conner course at the Amendoeira Resort in the Algarve region of Portugal is named after its designer, the four-time European Tour winner Christy O'Connor Jnr. Christy best known as the man who secured the point which tied the 1989 Ryder Cup at The Belfry with a two-iron approach to just four feet from the hole. Often confused with his Uncle Christy Senior, O'Conner was very much his own man, a supporter of the Special Olympics; Christy had a hand in designing more than 15 golf courses and continued winning even after he turned 50 years of age, with two wins on the Champions Tour and twice on the Seniors tour
We also have a short teaser of the upcoming Tough Love and Second Chances Podcast, which this week features Duncan Hamilton-Martin from England.
So let's get to Episode 40 of the EDGA Golfers First Podcast.
