Culture: the customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group. For example, Caribbean culture, Male culture, American culture.
In this episode, Entrepreneur, IT Consultant, and Traveler Stan Louissaint, comes back to the Men Talk About space to discuss the impacts of culture on health and well-being. This conversation is an extension or a phone call Stan and I had about my last podcast about heart matters. In that phone call we started to discuss the subtle and insidious ways our culture impacts what we eat, how we eat, and how we shame others that are making healthy choices.
My intention is for this conversation to bring awareness to how Culture impacts our health and eating habits. In my judgement, it's an area few address, and it's an area that wreaks havoc on many that want better for themselves. It's interesting to me, and I'm curious if culture has had an impact on your decisions in how you take care of yourself. Bring awareness to this in your life and if your culture is counterproductive to you betterment, then start shifting your culture...period.
