The show continues from the Covid-19 bunkers. On the plus side, the NHL 2020-21 season is only two weeks away from puck-drop! With some sad and strange news regarding Jonathan Toews to start off the show, the boys send their best and try and figure out what is going on with that situation. The Chicago Blackhawks were also hit with another injury when Kirby Dach broke his wrist playing for Canada at the World Juniors. The boys relate to their past discussions about players and international duties, again.
Some big-name free agents have been signed in the past week like Corey Perry to the Montreal Canadiens, Erik Haula and Mikael Granlund to the Nashville Predators, Ethan Bear staying in Edmonton, Mike Hoffman signing a PTO, and Andreas Athanasiousigning in Los Angeles.
The North/Canadian division is setting up to be highly entertaining all season long. Maple Leafs or Canadiens? Who comes out on top in the matchups all season long? The Ottawa Senators and Pierre Dorion have been making move after move. It all started with trades to acquire guys like Derek Stepan, Cedric Paquette and Braydon Coburn and followed up with signing their top prospect, and current World Junior player for Germany, Tim Stuetzle, to his entry-level deal.
