Finding Financial Recovery with Brandon Turner Brandon had his head on straight up until college, but when his addiction developed and quickly progressed, he had to find a way to support his habit. The need for more cash lead Brandon to a life of selling drugs which quickly spiraled out of control. Eventually, he was making a six figure income, but he had no direction or purpose and soon dropped out of college. It wasn't long until Brandon was busted by police in an undercover drug deal and was given the choice to either get sober or go to prison. Even though his freedom was on the line he chose to continue selling drugs. He says it was very similar to his addiction, "I just kept thinking I'll do one more deal and then stop." Brandon's using and selling drugs finally came to an end after attending mandatory 12 Steps meetings and an outpatient program, but he was now $75,000 in debt and the IRS was after him. He knew it would be difficult to dig himself out of this hole, but understood he had avoided facing these problems for long enough. Today, Brandon is debt free and coaches people in recovery on how to manage their finances in order to avoid the same pitfalls he encountered. He also authored the book, "Personal Finance in Addiction Recovery."
