We finally have a price and release date for Monster Hunter Rise and we couldn't be more excited. It was a very big, and important event for Nintendo but their Partner Direct Mini delivered and then some. We have not one but two new Monster Hunter games coming to the Switch next year, some ports of previously released games, some JRPGs, a new showcase for the excellent looking Balan Wonderland, a shadow drop of Hades, the new game from the makers of Bastion and Transistor and a shadow drop of Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Sony also held a small event where they showed off some PS5 games. Final Fantasy 16 was announced, some Miles Morales gameplay was on display, a Demon's Souls snooze fest, a new gameplay trailer for Deathloop, the long rumored Harry Potter RPG and a tantalizing tease of the next God of War. They also revealed the price and release date of the PS5. We go over both of these showcases, giving our thoughts on the games shown, and other thoughts about some of the PS5 post showcase debacles like the pre-order situation and how they slyly announced a $10 price increase in their first party games.
