Description

Summary Amos 3-7

God has raised up yet another prophet to warn Israel of the coming judgement against them because of their rebellious behavior.  The prophet Amos is sent to call Israel to repent and return to the Lord.  He calls attention to their complacency and their prideful nature. Amos is shown a vison of the judgment that would be brought upon them. Including swarms of locusts and judgment of fire. He cries out and ask how will they survive. The Lord relents and ease up but still express His anger toward Israel.
The priest Amaziah orders Amos to stop prophesying in Bethel and return to Judah, but Amos refuses and indicate that Israel will be taken captive and go into exile.
