Day 231 Jeremiah 25 to 27

For 10 years Jeremiah had been speaking to the people to turn from their idolatrous and evil ways and to not keep provoking the anger of the Lord. However, the people kept ignoring the warnings with the result being that they were appointed to go into exile in Babylon for 70 years. Chapter 25 also outlines God’s judgement on Babylon, Egypt and other nations.

In chapter 26 Jeremiah goes to the house of the Lord with another warning for the people to repent and in response they try to kill him. In chapter 27, he performs a prophetic act to depict the people going into captivity under the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar; however, the chapter ends on a redemptive note with a promise that the Lord will bring them from Babylon back into their land.
