Description

These three psalms, 105, 106 and 107 recount God’s interaction with the children of Israel and relate the many mighty works that God did. Another common theme across the three chapters is the call to give thanks to the Lord.

Chapter 105 remembers God’s covenant with Abraham and describes how the people came to Egypt where they increased greatly in number and were later delivered from the oppression of Egypt by God.

Chapter 106 opens with the call to praise and thank God for He is good, and His mercy endures forever. The people enter a cycle where they sin and rebel against God, are punished and cry out to God who then delivers them because He is faithful.

Chapter 107 calls out to the redeemed of the Lord and shows God’s mercy to deliver and save from sin, distress and times of trouble.
