Numbers 1 – God instructs Moses to number from each of the tribes of Israel every man twenty years and older, able to go forth to war with the exception of the men of the tribe of the Levites. They were assigned to keeping charge of the tabernacle and all that that entailed.
Numbers 2 – God tells Moses how each tribe should be positioned and ranked far off from the tabernacle of the congregation. Each camp was to display their family’s banner and set up as instructed.
