Bible summary Day 50 of Numbers 16.This chapter talks about the rebellion of Korah, Dathan, Abiram and their supporters or sympathizers that murmur against the leadership and priesthood of Moses and Aaron. The Lord causes the earth to open up and swallow Dathan and Abiram together with their families and the families of their supporters & sympathizers. In the same vein, fire from the Lord consumes Korah and the Two hundred and fifty (250) men who offer incense. Similarly, a plague ensues and kills Fourteen thousand and seven hundred (14,700) in the camp because they murmur against Moses the very next day.
Numbers 17: God authenticates the priesthood of Aaron by causing his staff to bud and blossom among the other staffs of the twelve tribes that is set before the Lord in the tabanacle in front of the Ark of Covenant. God instructs Moses to place Aaron’s staff permanently before the Ark of Covenant to serve as a warning to rebels.
