Description

This week I speak with Patrick Hartunian, a Professional Squash trainer, Mental strength coach and author from Canada.

During this episode, Patrick gives us a glimpse into his journey, from being an athlete to transitioning to a coach. He speaks about how he could observe an athlete’s body language before a game and tell whether they would win or lose and that this highlighted the importance of mental strength training. We also speak about learning to lose and why your frame or approach to losing matters to your success.

In addition, we speak about quieting the mental chatter and leveraging strategy when facing an opponent who is technically stronger.

Patrick speaks about how his book, “Mental Strength: Your Guide to Success in Sports” came about. He shares some of the personal challenges he faced and how these fuelled his purpose. Patrick also shares a framework that he uses to distinguish life from life’s situations.

Patrick also shares some core ways that parents sometimes inhibit their kid’s athletic performance. He outlines some important points that parents can use to build mental strength.

This is an episode not to be missed.
