We return after a week off to bring y’all the madness. The Dr. Seuss estate has decided to cease publishing 6 of the author’s books that they deemed unfit for the times, & the right wing has lost it, invoking “cancel culture” like always. We discuss this, as well as the 8 Democratic senators who voted with the Republicans in efforts to keep $15 federal minimum wage off the American Rescue Plan.
The GOP has voter suppression fever (again)! They’re showing where their priorities lie with bills in 43 states to make voting harder, with their tactics designed to target the working class & especially people of color, in a desperate measure to hold onto their power. In the midst of this, we discuss the For the People Act, which aims to expand voting rights & protect them on a federal level. Other topics include Piers Morgan’s tantrum over Meghan Markle, President Biden speaking against workplaces pushing against unions, & investigation into Elaine Chao’s corruption.
On “Amendment Time,” we complete the Prohibition saga with the 21st amendment. This amendment repealed the 18th amendment, the only one ever to do such a thing, & made legal once again the sale, transportation, & manufacture of alcohol in our country.
