This week, we’re talking about lots of stuff. We react to Ted Cruz writing an piece in the Wall Street Journal doing a simultaneous finger-wag & grovel to “woke” CEOs of corporations speaking out against GOP voter suppression laws. We also ponder what life must be like for people who live in the “extensions” of prorupted states such as Croatia, Tajikistan, & Namibia.
The GOP stays at it! The Republican-controlled Missouri State Legislature has go against the will of Missouri’s voters and shut down attempts to pay for the Medicaid expansion, & you’ve gotta hear how they justify themselves! Plus, Florida & DeSantis just have to be the center of attention, with a new voting bill that mirrors much of Georgia’s, rife with ways to suppress.
We also talk more about DC statehood, & the hypocritical counter-effort by Republicans to continue taxation without representation, with a fun history lesson! Other topics include the origin of the word “gerrymandering”, a boy band made of US Presidents, & Cheney vs Trump.
