My sisters and brothers, Today we are going into a 5th. Segment of our book. Our podcast song is, Praise You Blessed Trinity. Through God’s grace and mercy and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Praise You Blessed Trinity was written in 1980, but it was not recorded till many years later. And now here’s the segment and story behind this song.
Quote: “I continued my morning ritual, and going to Father Bill and Sister Bern’s teachings every Wednesday. On one Wednesday, Sister Bernadette and Father Bill were teaching on the importance of staying focused on the Lord; to be strong as to not allow the evil one to rob us of God’s gifts. The closer in prayer you are to Jesus, the more the devil will try to stop and rob you, but I was convinced nothing was going to get in my way of following the Lord. One day, we (my little family and I) thought we would surprise my dad. He had a lot of wood to split for his fireplace. So off we went to my parent’s home. I was inside the house, and Jennifer and Johnny were outside with their dad who was splitting a cord of firewood for my dad. Johnny came running in, screaming, “Dad needs you, Mom! Dad needs you! I went outside and wrapped a towel around Neil’s bloody arms, and we rushed him to the emergency room at the hospital. The doctor took Neil into surgery, and my children and I waited in the waiting room. As I was praying for him and his doctor, I had a sense he would be fine. However, within minutes of that, I also felt something was wrong with my dad. I couldn’t shake that feeling. I prayed for him and my mom. I tried calling from the hospital, but no one answered. Still, I had a strong feeling my dad was in trouble. I prayed more. Later that night, talking on the phone with my mom, I found out what had happened. My dad was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint. He was thrown into the backseat of his own car, about to be kidnapped. As the car was moving, my dad opened the door and fell out, the thieves did not stop. A very kind lady saw him on the ground and helped him into her car, then took him to the hospital. God bless you, Mrs. Stewart, for caring for my dad. When I got off the phone with my mom, I knelt down in prayer to thank God for sparing the lives of my dad and my children’s dad. I stood up with conviction and said, ‘I rebuke you, satan, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and cast you, satan, into the netherworld never to return. Amen’! Then, back on my knees, I prayed a prayer to the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, and this new hymn was created at that very moment. ‘Praise You, Blessed Trinity.’ Praise you, Father. Praise you, Jesus. Praise you, Holy Spirit. Praise you, blessed Trinity!” UnQuote.
My friends, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you!
