My dear sisters and brothers, today’s podcast song is actually a hymn based on the Holy Scripture, Psalm 96, verses 1-5,7,8, and 11-13, and the title of this Psalm is, ‘King of the Earth’, and this podcast is about our Lord Jesus Christ the King! In the month of November, the last Sunday of the Liturgical Calendar, is the Solemnity of Christ the King of the Universe. The website of the Divine office.org tells us this: Quote: ‘On this day we celebrate the supreme authority of our Lord Jesus Christ as King of the Universe. This Sunday’s solemnity reminds us that his divine reign invites all mankind to “seek the peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ.” After the Second Vatican Council, this celebration was placed on the last Sunday before the beginning of Advent on the Liturgical Calendar’. UnQuote.
In the late seventies as I was becoming more familiar with the meaning of this celebration of the last Sunday of the Liturgical calendar, my heart kept singing Praises to Jesus Christ, our Lord, our King, our God. I heard music coming from inside me with words I remembered reading from one of the Psalms, and I kept singing this from within my soul until I realized, this is the hymn the Lord God wants. So I began to put the music on paper with the words based on Psalm 96, and through the grace of Jesus, this hymn, Sing to the Lord, was created, and sung, during Mass celebration in churches of many States, and also at Father Bill’s and Sister Bernadette’s Holy Spirit Breakfast.
