My sisters and brothers, today we will be starting our first segment of the seven little segments of our book titled, ‘Journey with Trust and Fire Within’. This book was published in January of 2019, and is sold on the Internet, including Amazon. These little segments are either how our songs were created, or where they were used in the different chapters of our book, but not necessarily in the order they appear in the book. Today we will share with you song 1 of 7 songs which are included in our book. Here’s day 1 song, Stand By You: Stand by You was written in the late seventies. Here’s the story behind that song from the segment in our book:
“Later that day in the early evening hours, I had a prayer meeting to go to at a little church building. Prayers were offered, and we were able to go up to the front and ask for anything we want to be prayed for. I did just that. I asked for the gift of ‘discernment of spirits’. People prayed over me. I felt my body gently fall back and lower to the floor. This was my first experience of being “baptized in the Spirit” or, “releasing of the Spirit.” I remember thinking, “Are you here, Lord?” Then I saw with the eyes of my heart again. This was the Lord’s invisible covering of love as I heard Him say to me, “I love you, my child. Be not afraid. I will always stand by you, and you will have discernment of spirits. You are mine.” With joyful, tear-filled eyes, I stood up, went back to my seat, and praised God my Savior!”
The following day I pondered His words in my heart and in my thoughts. Then His words, “I will always stand by you,” kept playing in my mind, and this happened for several days, until one day, His words with music came alive in me and this song was created, ‘Stand by You’.
