Ali Haejal is a Lebanese American filmmaker currently trying to make it big in Los Angeles. He graduated magna-cum-laude with a degree in Film&TV and psychology from Boston University. When we recorded this conversation in October 2018, Ali discussed the pitfalls of perfection for a young filmmaker, how spontaneity and error fuels his creative process, and how he harnessed the human psyche in his films.
