He may be the greatest villain in history... but he was part of the inner circle. Jesus said of him: “Woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.” (Mark 14:21) Why do we throw shade at Judas? Did he seek redemption and repentance? Was he sent immediately to Hell for his sins? What else do we know about Judas?

• His name means “praise” and he was from Kerioth (Ishkeriyyoth) 
• He was called by Jesus (Matthew 10:3, Mark 3:18, Luke 6:16, Acts 1:13)
• He could do miracles and cast out demons (Luke 9:1-2)
• He was the son of perdition (Psalm 41:9, 109:8, Daniel 9:27, John 17:12, Acts 1:20, II Thessalonians 2:3)
• Satan was waiting for the moment to enter a disciple (Luke 4:13, 22:3, 31, John 13:2, 26-27)
• He was possessed by the devil (Luke 22:3, John 6:70-71, 13:2, 27)
• He betrayed Jesus (Matthew 10:4, 26:24, 45, 27:3, Mark 3:19, 14:21, 41, Luke 22:22, John 8:58-59, I Corinthians 11:23)
• As treasurer he took money out of the purse (John 12:4-6, 13:29)
• He “seized with remorse” after realizing what he had done (Matthew 27:3)
• The money was returned and used to buy a field (Matthew 27:3-10, Acts 1:18)
• He was so grieved that he sought to take his own life (Matthew 27:1-10)
• He hung himself but “fell” to his death (Acts 1:15-26)
• He has a throne and will judge the twelve tribes (Matthew 19:27-28)
• His name is on the wall/foundation in Heaven (Revelation 21:14)
