Ruth has been a studio artist in the Brookline/Boston area for decades. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Ruth moved to Boston after completing her graduate degree. She has dealt with a number of different mediums and subject matter throughout her career but her primary focuses have been tapestry art, photography and oil painting. Ruth also mostly explores the various themes related to the natural world. I got the chance to talk to Ruth about her career as well as her multiple excursions (Mexico and upstate Maine) artistic inspirations, and her impact on the Brookline Community (Brookline Open Studios, senior center project) as well as why she considers Brookline the perfect place to live as an artist.
