This is a concept God has been trying to teach me one of the sayings in the addiction recovery movement is "other people's opinion of you is none of your business." Not understanding this just about wrecked me after a lifetime in Ministry. God has been trying to teach me about the locus of control, which means there are very few things in life which I actually have complete control over but that's where my focus should be is on those things, not on the things that I can't control.
