A childhood encounter would lead Joanne Sweeney on a journey that would land her in some of the roughest parts of Chandler, AZ.
While in the 3rd grade, Joanne experienced a childhood that was filled with abuse from her father. One fateful day, Joanne was invited by Mr. Mike Egley to come to church. Faithfully, he provided transportation weekly that his church, Calvary Temple, coordinated with the city of Springfield, OR. This invitation would change her life forever.
A couple of years before his passing, Joanne asked Mr. Egley why he spent his time knocking on doors inviting children to come to Sunday School where she grew up. Mr. Egley's answer was simple, "Because God told me to." These 5 simple words set an example for Joanne and would start her on a path of ministering to others.
Today, Joanne knocks on doors inviting young people to attend church, and Jump Start Ministries, partners with other local organizations to bring hope, faith, and love to families and their children.
