Are Politics Void of Feelings? Or are they to be so objective that only the intellectual can be elected? Are poets or preachers allowed into the fraternity of the elite decision makers? Feelings as a qualification ... too inefficient you say ... why not get on with it and forget the implications on human beings? Absurd of course the politicians have feelings ... don't they? Electoral consultants say dare not to educate the electorate, for they will want answers to the great questions. Why are taxes so high? Why are my streets a mess of potholes? When will I get my stimulus check? Why is Ukraine not our problem? How will we ever payoff trillions and trillions of debts and unfunded obligations? How are those Congressmen and women or Senators paid ... does that include the inherent wealth that comes with the position? Is war the only alternative? Is peaceful coexistence feasible?
Who has the authority to open the borders, flee Afghanistan, and tell us climate is killing us, so buy an electric car, even though it is produced with fossil fuel and our electric grids have to have energy to produce energy, to support the charging stations ... and electric bulldozers, buses, planes trains, and automobiles, just to travel to Mars using renewable energy? It is my feeling that this whole political syndrome is void of feelings and common sense. Because the lies and deceits are distortions of the feelings for outcomes not incomes. Sorry, that's just a red and blue issue. what happened to the word problem and solution to quell bad outcomes and excessive incomes. Sorry, that's not politically correct to call our representatives incompetent ... they have feelings too.
My neighbor who was an immigrant, now a voting citizen, says feelings are not allowed in politics ... it’s too subjective. Well, who are the subjects and is America just another Monarchy or politburo? Well, I say no, but we are becoming one when feelings of the voters are ignored. Millions voted in the last election expressing their feelings ... some celebrated and some cried wolf. My feeling is there was a problem, caused by the Pandemic, with mail-in voting without proper security ... though Biden voters generally say it was a vote against a tyrant who is void of feelings. Trump voters were inspired to protest that turned into the usual riot ... because of feeling cheated. Well it certainly was a result of one side feelings counting more than the other side.
Can the Justice System deal with these feelings in an authoritative manner ... is January 6th truly an insurrection chargeable with felonies different than the BLM protests resulting in riots and deaths. Of course, feelings matter as do lives. But do they matter in making policy or indictments or incarceration. Is the Judge going to rule with feelings over logic or logic over feelings. Is Roe v Wade about feelings or opinion? Is Ukraine logic over feelings? Is what is right judged on feelings or logic or law or regulation. The answer is law without feelings is law without fair representation and impartial decisions. Feelings are of the heart not the head ... Confucius.
What's the point? Is our gridlocked Congress acting with logic, feelings or compromise. Or not in the best interest of those who elected them. Because they aren't accountable to the greater good ... only their party affiliation based on money raised for reelection. Our leaders are more beholding to money than they are the majority of voters feelings ... not their logic to control by the golden rule ... those with the gold shall rule ... and they do just that. So, what's the problem? It's our voting system and affiliatiopns with two parties that aren’t held accountable for the miserable financial state they have divided up among all us voters, regardless of affiliations. Bankrupt, hopeless as a nation of feelings.
