In my opinion, American Enterprise is not an institution. However, politics American style is a crumbling institution. Why is that? Because our leaders are politicians not entrepreneurs or enterprising workers. Who are the majority of the voters? 200 million enterprising American voters. Are they left or right or liberal or conservative or capitalists or socialists? Labels aren't appropriate for understanding why America is crumbling from the weight of government overhead. This takes business acumen in our leadership, not just a law degree or a Ph.D. in social science or political science.
