Celeste Kennedy has a heart for women from all walks of life; she is passionate about the empowerment and spiritual growth of women worldwide. Originally from San Francisco, CA, she relocated to Northern VA in 2000 to raise her son and find her purpose beyond motherhood and her career in healthcare.
For over a decade Celeste served in youth ministries, as a mentor to teen girls in the Womanhood Rites of Passage Ministry at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Ft. Washington, MD. God directed her to the Woodbridge campus of Zion Church in 2015, where she began serving as a member of their Women's Ministry leadership team, becoming Director 2 years later.
As a clearer picture of her purpose began developing, a desire to reach women globally began stirring within her, pushing Celeste to become a member of Zion’s Outreach and Missions Team, blessing her to interact with women in the Dominican Republic and Kenya.
God’s constant tug at Celeste’s heart caused her to surrender to answering His call, becoming a licensed minister in 2018. Driven by her awareness of the heartfelt needs burdening single women, Celeste took advantage of partnering with 2 other women in 2019, to birth Zion’s first Singles Ministry, where she served as Director until stepping down this past January, to follow God’s direction in serving beyond the walls of the church.
Recently asked to take a on a leadership role with A LOTT Of Sista Love, Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on female empowerment, Celeste accepted. As Coordinator for their North Carolina Chapter, she utilizes her platform to create and host events geared toward strengthening women, providing tools to build healthy, loving relationships and aid women in reaching their potential, making their dreams a reality, and celebrating life with one another to God’s fullest!
Celeste is intentional about fulfilling her assignment as a servant. Losing her job in the pandemic, after nearly 25 years in healthcare was a blessing in disguise that has catapulted her into full-time ministry. In this socially distanced season, where connecting virtually has become the new normal, Celeste is widening her reach and thriving in her God-ordained purpose! In addition to creating a safe space where women can connect and share 1:1 or in small group community, Celeste can be found speaking at conferences, leading prayer calls, teaching and delivering God’s word. She is currently writing a women’s devotional, completing a life coach certification and preparing to launch a podcast this summer. Celeste is a yielded vessel, inspired to inspire!
