On Tuesday, May 24, we shared a message from Superintendent Scott expressing heartbreak over the shooting in Uvalde, Texas and reminding students, staff, and families about the network of adults, systems, structures, protocols, and other supports we leverage to keep our schools as safe as possible.
Our Featured Staff members are our 2022 Retirees whom we honored at the District’s annual Retirement Celebration on Wednesday, May 25th in the South Meadows Middle School library. The theme was “Your Beach Awaits!”, which lent itself to tropical décor, a surfside photo booth, and island-inspired treats. Seventy-nine staff members are retiring from our district this year - 53 classified, 22 licensed, and 4 administrators and supertechs. Between them, they have more than 1,528 years of service in HSD. One retiree - Manuel Ruiz of Facilities - has over 45 years of service! Amazing! We are so grateful to all of our retiring staff members for their dedication and commitment to HSD students, families, and their colleagues.
