Description

The episode opens with an update on Daniela’s spiritual journey followed by discussion about online healing and psychic readings.

The topic at hand returns to the writing of the film Scream where Kevin Williamson, writer of the films in the franchise, took inspiration from yet another true crime case.
Historically the case would change how the public viewed crime when a senseless killing is committed just for the sake of getting away with it. Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb grew up in Kenwood, Chicago with their wealthy Jewish families but hadn't met until they were both attending  the University of Chicago at the ripe age of 15. Over the years Nathan would grow to admire Richard and they began committing petty crimes and burglaries together in exchange for aspects of a romantic relationship.

In the summer of 1924, the city of Chicago was shaken to the core after the brutal slaying of a child, questioning the morality of the youth in this day and age.

Referred to as the “perfect crime” solely based on the IQ’s and lack of motive for two privileged young men, 33 days of trial would see the guilty parties escape execution thanks to the famous attorney Clarence Darrow.

Daniela and Abi discuss the inevitable, when younger generations ask who Drew Barrymore is.
