Two year old James Bulger was led away from his mother by two ten-year-old boys skipping school. Jon Venables and Robert Thompson were the youngest sentenced for murder in the last century in the UK.
Dozens of witnessness saw and or questioned the boys, some choosing to ignore the group as James appeared distressed.
