Kara Menendez is a musical theater/broadway star. One of her big breaks was getting the opportunity to travel to Japan to star in West Side Story. In this production, she played the role of Alicia and was able to bring the Stephen Sondheim's visions to life in front of audiences every night. Now, Menendez is currently making her broadway debut in Moulin Rouge!. She is a swing in the show and covers six of the ensemble female tracks. Although she wasn't in the original Broadway cast of Moulin Rouge!, she joined the company in August 2021 when the show reopened after the COVID shutdown. However, she was the last of the new cast members to make her debut on the Hirschfeld stage. Since then, she has been on several times welcoming audiences members to the Moulin Rouge!. Getting to make her Broadway debut in a show that won "Best Musical" at the Tony awards is a dream come true for Menendez and she feels extremely honored to be part of such a wonderful company.
