Today "The Reno Tahoe Tonight Show" on 1180AM KCKQ the "Fanatic Friday Crew" (Grady Holdridge and Shaun O'Harra) Jenes Carter and I welcome back tennis analyst James Penner to the show for his Aussie Open report. Lots of changes in the tournament, as world #1 Rafa Nadal fell to Dominic Thiem of Austria in four closely contested sets. We are now approaching the semi final rounds and by early 2moro morning the semi final matchups will be solidified on the men's side. Penner will run down his picks for what should be an exciting weekend of tennis, leading to the finals.
The "Fanatic Friday Crew," will talk about the biggest stories in sports: Kobe Bryant and Superbowl LIV. We'll go over the statement released by Vanessa Bryant, Kobe's widow, and all of the gestures that athletes from around the world offered to honor Kobe's impact on sports and on their lives. We'll define what the "Mamba Mentality" actually is and how athletes have been using Kobe's teachings to elevate their careers and ipact their respective sports.
We will then break down the fineries of what separates these two teams from a Superbowl ring, in what will likely be a shootout and a welcome relief from last year's dud of a Superbowl LIII. G-Man, looks at some of the fun prop bets that will likely surface and which ones are the most doable and the most outrageous and far-fetched. Lastly G-Man and Shaun will run down the best local places around town to watch the Big Game on Sunday--that's NOT inside your own households.
