After taking the path of least resistance, I met a new breast cancer surgeon who opened my eyes to a whole new possibility of bilateral mastectomies and breast reconstruction. As I write this on the eve of my surgery, I’m getting ready to go down an unbeaten path in my life. Excited? Yes. Hopeful? Absolutely. A little nervous? Of course.
