- The feast of Passover occurs at the same time as the Easter observance. Discuss the similarities in meaning of the two occasions in terms of what God says to us through them. For example look at the theme of being saved in both.
- Pentecost in the New Testament is a first fruits celebration. In what ways is Pentecost in the New Testament another first fruits celebration.
- The feast of Pentecost and the feast of Tabernacles celebrated God’s goodness and provision. Discuss the theological role of tithing and offerings in the contemporary Christian world as a way of celebrating God’s goodness and provision. Is it really an act of worship or is it simply about keeping the lights going?
- Celebrating and remembering God. What are the opportunities to do this together in the contemporary New Zealand context? If we were to create a new celebration, what would it be, when would we do it, what would it look like and who would we invite?
