Text: Acts 1:1-11
- Jesus told the disciples to “wait” until they encountered the Holy Spirit. Why was that the case, and what is an experience you have had of having to wait for something?
- When you think of being a witness for Jesus, what kinds of activity does that describe?
- Picture yourself as on the people present when Jesus ascended into heaven. What do you think they saw or heard?
- V.6 would seem to suggest that the close followers of Jesus still didn’t understand the nature of God’s kingdom. How would you describe the kingdom of God to some wo wasn’t a believer?
- As a disciple (follower/learner) of Jesus, what is the impact of Jesus words in v.8?
- To which “Jerusalem” are you called are you called to bear witness to Jesus? How do you need the Holy Spirit to empower you?
- What will you do differently for considering this passage of Scripture?
