The first two take-aways from the first church sermon ever preached were these: repent and be baptised. And so for 2,000 years, Christians have lined up to be sprinkled and dunked in obedience to Christ's command. But how many of us really understand why Jesus and the apostles commanded every new believer to be baptised?
