Genesis 19 (CSB)
1) God is slow to anger, but His justice is coming.
“Therefore God delivered them over in the desires of their hearts to sexual impurity, so that their bodies were degraded among themselves.” Romans 1:24
The Lord is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth, 7 maintaining faithful love to a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But he will not leave the guilty unpunished…. Exodus 34:6-7
2) God Rescues the Reluctant, but Reluctance is Deadly
Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns committed sexual immorality and perversions, and serve as an example by undergoing the punishment of eternal fire. Jude 1:7
“Remember Lot’s wife! Whoever tries to make his life secure will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.” Luke 17:32
3) If God Considers You Family, Your Future Is Secure
So it was, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham and brought Lot out of the middle of the upheaval when he demolished the cities where Lot had lived. Genesis 19:29
