Heather is an advocate for women's empowerment and domestic violence prevention. Her career in law enforcement led her down a path of learning how to help women go from surviving in life to thriving after the traumatic experience of domestic violence. This led her to begin the non-profit, Surviving to Thriving, which provides a long-term sustainability program for individuals that want to thrive in life after surviving domestic abuse. Heather is currently serving as the founder and chair of this Atlanta organization. The passion for domestic violence awareness and prevention started from a personal situation in her teen years and then grew into a career in law enforcement. She recently left the police department in order to dedicate more time to her podcast (also Surviving to Thriving) and to teach the headlining program of R.A.D. Women’s Self-Defense.
