Who Is Jazmin Ocampo?
Jazmin Ocampo’s name is pronounced in Spanish (yah-zh-meen oh-kham-poh). She is happy with "Jaz" or "Yaz." As a student of self-love, and as an empathy-driven leader, Jaz mobilizes others to embrace their holistic selves, be inspired by the resiliency of their ancestors, express themselves, and become more intentional in how they show up for themselves and others.
She believes that authentic and reciprocal relationships surface our power within, so she enthusiastically curates spaces for people to connect, explore ideas, & take concrete steps towards what they envision for themselves & their communities.
Born and raised in Chicago to Mexican immigrant parents, Jaz is deeply committed to social, economic, & racial justice for BIPOC communities. She’s driven to influence how structural and systemic decisions impact people on an individual, local, and global level. She currently supports AMPT: Advancing Nonprofits in developing programming that centers Black and Latine nonprofit leaders and organizations, and in transforming philanthropy by addressing systemic racial
inequities and serving as a model for anti-racist systems and processes.
As a health and wellness enthusiast, Jaz loves to move her body and try new meal recipes!
She lives with a growing number of houseplants because she’s obsessed with propagation.
