Description

Aging is a natural part of life. It is completely unavoidable, yet it is seen as such a taboo topic, especially among us women.

We are ashamed to speak about the changes that occur in our bodies. We begin to love ourselves less each day.

But it shouldn’t be that way. This is a time for us to get excited and energetic about life, as it’s only just the beginning!

Jan Saunders grew up with a love for animals and the natural world, which led her to a 33-year career in the Victoria Police service as a horse trainer and Riding Instructor.

This changed, however, after she suffered a serious back injury at the age of 49. Jan was left debilitated and unable to be her athletic self.

So what did she do? She spent two years recovering, regained her strength, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, became vegan, went on a solo trip around the world, and to top it off, she RAN AN ULTRAMARATHON!

Even though Jan was aging, she didn’t let anything step in her way!

In this episode of the Fall In Love with Fitness podcast, Jan and I discuss how she went from being bedridden to an ultramarathon runner, why she decided to become a vegan, and why the process of aging is, and always will be, a gift.
