After describing to Timothy how men of the Word live, Paul goes on to detail how men without the Word approach life. They are “lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive” and more. He warns Timothy that this style of living will become more and more prevalent, but that Truth will win out in the end. This week we take note of the example of living to avoid as we are led by the Spirit of Truth. (John 14:17)
