Matthew 6:7-18
Jesus had already taught that we should pray, and He continued by teaching us how to pray. In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus gives us a model to help shape our hearts and deepen our affections for God. He followed it with the command of fasting. Neither of these are tasks for the religious elite, but acts of obedience that flow out of a love for God that help us know Him.
