The first chapter of the Book of Psalms stands as a gatekeeper to the rest of what Dietrich Bonhoeffer called the “prayer-book of the Bible,” where we are able to learn 1) Who God is 2) Who we are 3) How to interact with him in relationship. The writer of Psalm 1 quickly cuts to the chase, declaring that every man will walk one of two paths. The first is the way of truth that leads to life. The other is a path that ends in death and destruction. Which will you take?
