A survivor of a serious traumatic brain injury from a bicycle accident, Candace Gantt is a respected advocate for brain injury and the founder of Mind Your Brain Foundation. Candace Gantt is a TBI Survivor, founder and conference director of Mind Your Brain @ Penn Medicine, Executive Director of Mind Your Brain Foundation, and a Board Member of the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania. In 2005 Candace was hit by a construction truck while bicycling in Center County, PA which resulted in life saving craniotomy surgery and crainoplasty. At the time her girls were 4 and 10 years old. She has come from coma to community. Candace was voted Philadelphia Magazine’s Health Hero 2017, and she was featured in Wounded Brains by Sandra Markle and Second Wind: The Resilience of Women by Beth Brykman. Candace also served as the Corporate Director of Reservations Operations World Wide with the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company where she opened two international Reservations Centers and seven hotels.
