In this episode of the Made to Lead podcast, Felicia is joined by Tekita Bankhead, the Director of the Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center (BNAACC) at UIUC. Tekita shares her experiences and challenges of being the first and/or only black woman in various leadership positions, what this entails, and how she's mastered her own leadership style. We expand on what representation in leadership really means and how we can actually foster long-lasting diversity and inclusion in the professional world. Finally, Tekita shares her creation of The Pedestal Project, an organization dedicated to uplifting black women in the community.
