Need I say much more? We work so hard to get ahead and some of us can't seem to rise above the surface for air when it's already performance review time. Wiping away the sweat, sitting upright in our chairs, deep breaths and in an instant the year has gone by. It's performance review time and with a stroke of a pen we're marked, graded, laddered, evaluated, and formally given a category of associated measured value. And yet all this time we've been closing things out, whacking error moles, fielding support, presenting, managing, leading, sacrificing and so much more - we find ourselves evaluated not over output, but outcome. Dazed and frayed we freeze into a numb state unknowingly realizing that outcome is what truly mattered and what gets measured all along.
Know this: You will be measured (and more than likely remembered) by your outcomes, not output.
In this week's episode of the Working Ant, you will walk away enlightened (at least temporarily) knowing what is truly important in your role.
