Ever dream of giving up the career and going all Eddie Albert and Zsa Zsa Gabor buying a farm and making it work? Welcome to Kreeky Tree Farm the organic farm owned and operated by Chris Gangi and Allan Schanbacher. Chris the former Creative Director for Organic Gardening and Organic Style magazines and Alan with a career in NYC and Phoenix restaurants and food styling have created a successful business in Slatington PA. With various breeds of chickens, goats, horses, poitou donkeys and two Toulouse geese every day is a long one. In this episode we talk about the efforts and rewards that come with hard work and a dedication to organic gardening and farming. We sat down in the barn on a dreary day, listen closely and you can hear the roosters and the occasional chatter from the geese outside the door. The barn is cozy with a full industrial kitchen where Allan creates beautiful goats milk cheeses, hot sauces and canned vegetables from Chris’ garden. Farmers, neighbors but most of all two of my best friends. After listening I think you’ll feel the same.
