Have you ever felt like you had a desire and the ability to do something that you were never afforded the opportunity to? Many people with “different abilities” never get the opportunity to share them because of assumptions made about what they can and can’t do. As a society, we are missing out on so many gifts and treasures because of our lack of empathy and willingness to be patient with those who may need to do things differently than many of us.
Whether we are defined as physically challenged or people with a disability, we have gifts to share that can benefit humanity.
Today I want to welcome Miss Emily Rowe and Mr. Ryan Ward. Miss Rowe is a 2020 graduate of Kennedy Krieger High School who has always been interested in Hospitality. Emily is now pursuing her interest in the Food and Beverage Management program at Montgomery College. As an ex-preemie and a twin, Emily knows the challenges faced by those with Cerebral Palsy and multiple disabilities.
