Pauline Burke, originally from Dublin, Ireland, has been living and working as an English language consultant in Italy for many years. She is the proud Mam of a now-adult son, who is fully bilingual. She has a degree in language studies and a passion for writing, reading, dancing, and singing, all of which she shared with her own beloved Mam, Marie, who died suddenly last year.
Her book began as an entry in her diary while on the plane back to Ireland for her Mam's funeral. That entry became a Eulogy which then turned into a journey from Grief to Growth; 'Dear Mam', a book of raw, heartfelt letters to her Mother, tracing her very intimate journey through the trauma of the loss of such an important person so suddenly, towards healing and personal growth. The aim of this book is to inspire and help anyone going through grief or loss and encourage them to write letters, whether or not they are sent. Ironically, the theme of grief is now all around us and within us, so Pauline really encourages you to read her story.
