Description

I am so happy to honor modern mystic, Sister Thea Bowman (1937-1990) who actually had an impact on my life in a way I didn’t know—she was the pivotal force behind the “Lead Me, Guide Me” hymnal used in African-American Catholic Churches, like the one I was raised in! The granddaughter of an enslaved person, Sister Thea earned advanced degrees (B.A., M.A., and PhD) and became an educator before becoming an evangelist focused on uplifting others, especially through song. A case for Sainthood has been opened for Sister Thea and she has been designated a “Servant of God.” How thankful I am for her contributions and wisdom! Namasté.
