The Los Angeles Lakers gaming which is the esports team in the NBA2K league has also postponed its season-opening. It was supposed to begin on March 24th. The benefit of esports, however, is that games can still be played remotely. The league is going to have teams play preseason games from their respective markets remotely. There will also be an "NBA 2KL 3 for all showdown" which will feature a 3 on 3 tournaments where fans get the opportunity to compete against league players, the best 2k female players, and social media influencers. In my opinion
The Lakers were having one of the best seasons I have ever seen. Staying at the top of the western conference throughout the season and coming off big wins against the top team in the east the Milwaukee bucks and the second-best team in the west the Los Angeles Clippers. You could tell when they played that they were having fun and had built great chemistry with each other. Lebron James and Anthony Davis produced stats, highlights, wins and leadership as superstars are supposed to. The role players such as Kyle Kuzma, Caldwell Pope, Dwight Howard, and Alex Caruso were stepping up and doing their part when their name was called. It sure seemed like the Lakers were on their way to the playoffs and for an opportunity to play for a championship. Now the question is how will the league finish out this season, will they cancel it or bring it back later in the year once the virus has been contained? and it the season does start back up, does it start where it left off or in the playoffs? So many questions and so much uncertainty, but the good thing out of all of this is that we got to see a great Laker team in the first half of the season. Something we have not been able to say for years.
Your mamba mentality for the day.
In the 2007-2008 season the Lakers traded for Pau Gasol and it catapulted them into one of the best teams in the league. They reached the finals for the first time in four years and Bryant won his first and only NBA season MVP award averaging 28.3 points per game, 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists.
