There are two ways forward, one is narrow and one is broad. Christians view this comparison as a way to illustrate the difference between Christianity and the way of the flesh. But it as easily reflects the difference between the methodology of science and the way subjectivists think, and for good reason. The way of truth is as scientific as it is standardized by obedience to the truth of God. If there is a truth and this truth is from God, then obedience can be quantified in the way scientific truth has quantifiable verification.
