Description

Church and state are separate institutions. One cannot be contained within the other. They are sociological equivalents. One cannot be derived from the other. Church and state correspond to the spirit and the flesh and represent good and evil. There is no correspondence between them and no collaboration. Church and state do not exist on opposite ends of an infinite continuum, they are polar opposites without any connection. There is no reconciliation, no negotiated settlement, no arbitration that will merge them or bring them into any union. The only way they can be reconciled is by the defeat of one by the other, or the surrender of one to the other. If your church is under your state you are a defeated church and a people who have capitulated to the state.
